Default If the Russians win the war, maybe Subcarpathia could return to Hungary

Recently published in the Russian propaganda media the possibly post-war division of Ukraine, if Russia win this terrible war.

According to this map, only the central parts of the country will remain in the country. The eastern and southern parts would be attached to Russia, some SW parts would arrive to Romania, the western parts of the country (like Lviv) will be parts of Poland and Subcarpathia would return to Hungary.

The advantage of this would be that we would get it back a lost region of our and the Hungarian minority would get rid of this oppression which they get from the Ukrainian goverment and the ultranationalist groups.

But do not forget, the Hungarians is only 10% of the recent population of Subcarpathia and would be the less development part of Hungary caused by the big poverty (which is true in all Ukraine) and the devastation by war.

Polish propagandists are so dumb and incompetent that they assigned the entire Zakarpattia to Hungary, instead of just the Hungarian bit.

New (smaller) Ukraine would be similar as Belarus by size and shape.

Annexation of Subcarpathia by Hungary makes more sense than Polish annexation of the rest of western Ukraine. Because western Ukrainians are very anti-Polish oriented. In Subcarpathia live Russyn majority and Hungarian minority. Russyns don't hate Hungarians. They are mostly peaceful people, different than haters of Poles and Russians from Lavov.

Don't think so, there is no way those countries would invade UA from west.

Also, the Russyns are oppressed people from long time. So, if Subcarpathia will be back to Hungary, the Russyn identity would be reborn and will be a Russyn autonomous region in Hungary.

It's a Polish-made map and they assigned the entire Carpathian region to Hungary because they want Poland and Hungary to have a border (Polak i Wieger dwa bratanki, etc).

Your thread is a massive shitpost and I don't understand what you were trying to say.

It's like "we want to take advantage of the current situation, but also condemn Russia at the same time".

Well, the thing is, under the thumb of Sleepy Joe and NATO you will never see your fellow Hungarians from Transcarpathia.

This is very unlikely to happen because Ukraine is currently the West's little good boy. The west wouldn't support Poland and Hungary taking Ukrainian territory. If Hungary did this, Hungary would probably kicked out of EU, NATO etc. Even an economic embargo would be possible. 100 years ago it could have been possible when all these pacifist, international/ pan-europeanist organizations didn't exist.

And it is possible that in a couple of years there will be barely any ethnic Hungarians in Zakarpattia oblast, because all of them will come to Hungary or other EU countries.
