Why did Serbia vote against Russia in the UN??

Because Serbia lives from western money and aid. EU is biggest investor and trade partner with Serbia, they bring 10X more money to Serbian economy than Russia does.

Serbs are pro Russian but at the same time they are not willing to cut western investments and aid. Only remains to be seen how long they will be tolerated to do that-sitting on two chairs. They had big protector in Angela Merkel but she is gone and eventually they will have to chose a side. Same applies to Orban btw (but it's different since they are in EU/NATO) In short, Serbia is fucked.

Maybe so, but that's even more of an indictment on the Serbs. Because it basically means they are cowards, and also run to the money instead of staying loyal and faithful to their conscience. Can't say I blame them, and most other people would have done the same in this position. But it is what it is. It remains a show of disloyalty and the opposite of moral courage.

This is fairly shocking. China voted against it, as did all the Central Asian countries, and traditional allies of Russia. Others like India, South Africa etc abstained. Couldn't Serbia at least have abstained from this vote?

And why are you supporting Russian invasion of Ukraine ? Except for Crimea and some of the majority Russian areas I cannot possibly see what business Russia has in Ukraine. I mean, how would you feel if someone invaded your country and started bombing your house ? It's easy to sit and talk from a chair in the UK when you have never seen or felt war or all the people that suffer.
Try to be a bit more reasonable mate.

Nobody in a million years is going to invade Russia considering Russia has nuclear weapons that automatically go off if someone attacks them which means the whole world would be fucked. That's why Russia should mingle in it's own business. But they are paying the price now with sanctions and everything.

However his party seems to be an observer for EPP and member of IDU. Being member of such internationalist groups means pressure.
That means bowing to some type of liberal economics and must align with EU sometimes if Serbia wants to be part of EU in future.

At the same time, today a decision is being made about the fate of Serbia - whether we will be an exception to the package of sanctions on oil right today,” the President of Serbia said.
Vučić recalled that the sanctions previously adopted by the European Union allow Serbia to import oil from anywhere until May 15, and “then not from the Russian Federation, nor from anywhere else, because Gazprom Neft is the main owner of the Oil Industry of Serbia.”

They have crossed a line, and Zelensky even said he wanted his country to host nuclear weapons. Russia could not allow these developments to continue.

Aside from that, the ethnic Russians in Donbass have already been bombed by the Ukraine military since 2014, and Russia wanted to put a stop to this. In order to break the deadlock on the Donbass line of contact, Russia had to take out heavy weapons around Kiev first, and degrade the Ukrainian military.

According to pro Vučić media and some analysts, before the vote Vučić talked with Putin by phone and received a "blessing" to vote against Russia. Because Putin know that Serbia (Vučić) has been blackmailed by the west and must vote against, plus vote of Serbia means nothing for whole situation.

I wish that were true, but i am very skeptical about that. Vučić is a top media manipulator, who is capable to convert defeats into victories in media or to mitigate defeats. He has been doing it successfully for 10 years.
For example alleged things which i mentioned in the first to sentences claim Dragoslav Bokan (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dragoslav_Bokan) who is among other things semi-disguised Vučić's media promoter in the last 5-6 years. Bokan except for Serbia/Vučić said same for Hungary/Orban.
