No though a lot of fish and chip shops are run by Greeks or rather Greek cypriots who for some reason tend to form the great majority of settled Greeks here. Most areas outside London have very few Greeks and even in London they are only a large proportion of the population in parts of Islington, Haringey and Enfield. Most Indians are Hindu Sikh.

My Greek family opened up a diner when they first came to Australia in the 1930s, so I am not surprised, that's something Greeks are very good at.

Yeah, in my area two Greek restaurants have opened up in the last 3 years, they are very good, very popular though i would say that British fish and chips is good and even better but the Greeks are more willing to deal with the hours, the demand of running such a business.

I imagine that will change eventually, in Australia most Greeks don't run small businesses anymore, the younger generations are mostly university educated and have higher income jobs.

    I think maybe 1-2%? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greek_Australians

Says there's an estimated 400k to 600k but I don't know if that includes people like me who are half Greek.
