Germany approves rainbow flags on ministry buildings for LGBT events

Germany says it has authorised raising the rainbow flag at federal government buildings to mark Pride marches or global LGBT+ events.

The Interior Ministry confirmed in a statement on Wednesday that flying the rainbow flag “must be related to a concrete date".

This could include the June 28 anniversary of the 1969 Stonewall uprisings in New York that helped propel a global LGBT+ movement.

The move is intended to end discussions in Germany about unclear rules and signal acceptance of diversity.

“We are a modern and diverse country,” said Interior Minister Nancy Faeser. “It is high time that we as state institutions also show that more clearly.”

“We want discrimination against people because of their sexual identity to end in all areas of society,” she added. “We want to show solidarity with all those who still experience exclusion.”

Gas embargo to plunge Germany into ‘sharp recession,’ according to experts

"The war in Ukraine has already dampened Germany’s growth prospects, but a full ban on gas imports from Russia — on which it is heavily dependent — could send the country into recession, according to a report from the country’s top economic research institutions.

The report, out Wednesday, estimates that Germany will grow by 2.7 percent this year (compared with a fall forecast of 4.8 percent), but grow by only 1.9 percent if gas imports are banned. In 2023 GDP will grow by 3.1 percent, but shrink by 2.2 percent in case of a supply shock, the experts say."

“If gas supplies were to be cut off, the German economy would undergo a sharp recession,” said Stefan Kooths, director of business cycles and growth at the Kiel Institute for the World Economy.

Berlin has opposed a ban on Russian gas despite calls from Ukraine, Baltic countries and Poland, which hope to halt Russian President Vladimir Putin’s war on Ukraine. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has said that it would cause mass poverty in Europe. Wednesday’s’s forecast will give him backing.

The report also said that a sudden halt in gas supplies would endanger €220 billion in German economic output; further fuel inflation to 7.3 percent this year, compared with a baseline scenario of 6.1 percent; and reduce a contraction in unemployment expected this year from 5 percent currently to 5.2 percent.

I don’t fully get you. Why do you formulate it that way? Do you want Germans to give up fighting for their survival, because the end - according to you - is already manifested?

If you have this opinon - I don’t share it -, why are you at all interested anymore in this - according to you - finished topic?

Like if there is a fire and firefighters at work and you are coming to them and saying: Hi guys, you have no chance, because of this and because of that etc.

Do you enjoy to deal with our misfortune, does it attract you or what exactly is your motivation? Please explain.

I tell to the the inhabitants of the burning house to leave it as the firefighters wont be able to stop the fire and they will die.
You are maybe the one downplaying the fire or overestimate the capability of the firefighters to stop the certain death.

The parameters are crystal clear and I dont need to turn a blind eye on something that is certainly going to happen, even if I dont like it.
I can only view whats going on by the parameters I have and there is little to nothing positive.

The house BRD is built in a way that a small fire leads to certain death and people should not trust it at all and we need to promote people that aim to build another fortress.

Brudear why are you so pessimist about it. Why would a homo flag make you so angry? I understand your feelings about Germany being submissive to west but it was worse after 1945. Every nation can recover given enough time.

I think Teutone will migrate to Hungary and will be danube swabian after a while. Lets start to colonize the Carpathian Basin again.

Its a chronology of many things adding up the the decline, this is just the recent news.
If you have no understanding of framing, overton window and how to set a hegemony, then you dont see the big deal with every sign/narrative the enemy presents as new normal.
