This has been an issue for years. Even if my sleeping issue isn't resolved at least I learned a new word.

But the constantly thinking and trying to resolve problems sounds a bit like adhd. (If you're doing this every night).
It's not even mostly problems that exist. It's "what if this happens..." For example, yesterday I was driving along and this jackass steps out from behind a truck at the last second into the street, and instead of looking in my direction he's looking for cars coming in the opposite direction! I had to swerve my car at the last second or I'd hit him. So I spent time thinking, "what if I did him? Thinking of all the steps I'd have to take if I did hit this jackass with the car and what legal problems would come from it. He also had a dog with him. What do I do with the dog?

Sometimes I'll see something happen that has nothing to do with me, and I'll think about all the options available and the consequences behind them.

Anyway, I will try the various advice given except for mowing people's lawns.

Yes , CFS can easily runs for years . Iatrogenic culprits can be Opioid painkillers , Corticosteroids , Antidepressants , Hypnotics , some muscle relaxants etc. . Normie docs. usually are quite adamant to admit for this so one is left to figure this by himself by ruling out all other probabilities .

Well....if it seems to be stemming plainly from sleep issue , then good luck !

When I look forward to "something the next day" I just got stressed out myself and I have bigger problems falling asleep myself. And melatonin (in a drug) hardly helps anyone unless the issue is caused by changing your time zone / jetlag. I also do remember that after ingesting a melatonin pill I'd wake up after 4 hours of sleep myself nearly each time.

I had the same problem recently.I slept for 3-4 hours a day and got sick because of it.I rethought all my problems, started doing athletics and reading good classical literature. My insomnia is gone.I recommend you to read the book:"How steel was tempered."It will help you realize that all your problems are insignificant.I remember the wonderful quotes from this book: "The most precious thing for a person is life. It is given to him once, and it must be lived in such a way that it is not excruciatingly painful for the aimlessly lived years, so that the shame for the mean and petty past does not burn, and so that, dying, he can say: all his life and all his strength were given to the most beautiful thing in the world – the struggle for the liberation of humanity" and "To be able to live, even when life becomes unbearable."

Poor you! I sometimes have insomnia because I am always very preoccupied and I know how problematic this is!

I would suggest you, in order to combat insomnia, not to watch screens a certain time before you go to sleep, because it excites the brain. I would rather read a book. And if you are in your bed and the light is turned off already, you can pray the rosary.
