Those claims are based on accusations made against our foes in the first Iraq War and World War I. People believed them just liked they believed all of the claims about the Ukraine situation. It's the same kind of mentality that led to "freedom fries" when we had our airspace spat with France. I do have to say I did see a weird video of some Russian claiming Ukrainians do pagan blood sacrifices in a discussion with some other Russian who looked at him weird but I have no clue who he was or anything about the show. If I can find the video maybe our resident Russians can explain if it is even legitimate.
