in these pics the eastern slovaks are a bit rounder faced on average which is more slavic, while hungarians seem to be a little less so, but the reality is the vast majority of hungarians can pass in slovakia as natives no problem.

most slavic slovaks genetically are North eastern slovaks who have a long history of ming with poles. I have a few samples that plot with the polish average on eurogenes. Rest of slovakia is not too different geneticallu from each other is my impression.

Generally I think, the Hungarians and Slovaks have almost same phenotypes.

Only differences, that the Slovaks look more Slavic, the Hungarians are more diverse, we have more Germanic and Balkan type than our northern neighbors.

The large overlap is not suprising, since the Slovaks as stateless ethnic group, they lived in the historical Hungary at long time.

I am surprised at how similar the two peoples are especially considering that they have been separated by language for a long time, there is probably a greater difference between French Swiss and Ethnic French across the border for instance.
