It's not a meme, and it has been already the case in 2017 and in other elections for his party (La République en marche = LREM) : his main electoral sociology are old people over 65 years because they like his center-right economic policies favouring rich and already retired old people (who have already paid back their mortgage and don't have kids anymore at home to support financially)

Macron has, as many political commentators in France points out for years, the biggest scam in political marketing : presenting himself as "young, energetic leader" of the youth, while being massively favoured by old boomers and not by the youth

You can see the first round results of this year, that even more amplified the pattern (in French, but you will get the point, it breaks down results by age category) :

The highest among the youth, are Mélenchon (leftist-socialist like Bernie Sanders type in the US, that many urban college students and Frenchs of immigrant background/Muslim/minority of color fighting against "racism & discrimination") or for Marine Le Pen (which is not really conservative-right, but rather more like Trump, populist for helping the middle and lower classes living in periphery/rural France, mostly trade workers in factories, agricultures, small SMEs employees and business owners)

Macron is caricaturally strong among the bourgeoisie (highly educated, executive/management positions in big corporations, open to progressive values and globalization) and old people. In Marxist terms, he is the stereotypical leader of the ruling bourgeois class against the proletarians (split between Mélenchon and Le Pen).

See in the chart above (yellow = Macron), the clear patterns :
    - The lower the income, the less likely to vote Macron (= the wealthier, the more likely, see those earning more than 3000 EUR/month)
    - The younger the person, the less likely to vote Macron (= the older, the more likely, see those above 60 years old)
    - Cadres (= executive/management positions in companies) & Retraité (retired people) = highest vote for him. Ouvriers (= manual workers, like in factories, car mechanics, contractors, ...) = lowest vote for him

Yes, he won, but Le Pen is not that great either, she is not like Viktor Orban, and even Zemmour was better than her. The thing that got me shocked was that Mélechon was able to almost surpass Le Pen. And that surprised everybody.

France is already doomed, too many cucks living there. Italy's Fratelli Del Italia and Spain's Vox are way better than Le Pen's party and are also way better parties as well. Spain and Italy can very well fight back against globalism.

In France the younger people are more likely to vote Zemmour/LePen than boomers.

    Boomers largely voted for Macron.

Boomers are afraid to realize they created a absolute mess of a society.
RogueState posted statistics on the 2nd page. People between 35 and 60 voted more Le Pen than than ppl below 35.
Young people mostly voted for an "anti-racist" - leftist Bernie Sandersoid guy. Young people in western countries are mostly woke.

At the brexit referendum, young people voted remain and old people voted leave. I do not believe that Boomers are more "woke" than younger generations. It does not make sense to blame boomers for Le Pen's loss when young people vote for Melenchon or whatever his name is.

Always found this speculation about a 'based Gen Z' a cringeworthy cope. If you keep pumping the youth with more and more leftist indoctrination than the previous generation, they're not going to magically turn right-wing. Nothing is spontaneous. The cultural revolution of the 60s came from the top, and succeeded most by convincing the youth that it was organic.
    Spoiler!

I can't find any ethnic statistics of France.

Can someone inform me on the ethnic makeup of this country?

France doesn't collect race/ethnic statistics, it's against their principles of promoting national unity.

People who continue to vote for the same establishment politicians again and again, really deserve what is coming. Unfortunately it will affect everyone.
