That still would not fit with the modern definition of white race, the italians wrote about the exotic look of people like you. Greeks too wrote about the exotic aspects in looks of "barbarians" they considered them more strange looking then arabs, they didnt wrote about arabs being exotic.

It depends how we define whiteness. What is white in modern Latam, is not always white in modern USA (and actually it is funny that Jews are marked as whites in US census and Levantines in some Latam countries). Roman concept was Mediterranic-centered, which is natural, as Northern Europe had not civilized societies in that time.

Whiteness or not, it is question of opinion. "North European whiteness" was invented in modern time, for sure.

On the other hand in our European colonies in the Spaniard Empire there are no writings of strangeness for Nordic phenotypes nor phenotypical cataloging for them that would make the Spaniards strange or see them as very strange, there was already a continental conscience and the normality was to accept how the people of the continent are, after all they are human phenotypes, in America perhaps the term white had to be coined because the differences and contrast was very evident, but for the European colonies it did not mean any controversy for the Spaniards in relation to the phenotypes.

No, they are NOT! This would be simply an impossibility!
Also, Italians have been racially homogeneous since NEVER! Every region in the peninsula has its own kind of admixture.
Italian is only a Nationality, it is not a Race, it is not an Ethnicity...
