These are foolish stereotypes. The assumption is you can only be social in a school setting as if kids don't have friends in their neighborhood or do activities like soccer, martial arts, etc. You don't gain life experience in school because school is regulated. You gain life experience by spending time in your neighborhood and interacting with different people of all ages (from the young to the elderly). You experience different situations that you wouldn't be able to in school.

Clemente's results indicated that the homeschooled students' mean test score on the SAT (including verbal and mathematics sections) was 1123, whereas private- and public-school students averaged 1054 and 1039, respectively.

As far as Richmond goes, it ceased to have any relevance to anything outside Virginia around 1865.

Neighbourhood? Where do you live? 90s? Kids don't hang outside anymore. Most of kids are home and play PC/Console games. Times when kids used to hangout are lost. School gives you base for anything in life. School builds relationships, schools learn that not everything goes how you like, school teaches you that there are people that hate you and love you you spend most of the life with them in closed rooms. And there are other unlimited stuff that school gives you. But yes you playing basketball outside with 2 other kids, if that even happens to like 10% of kids, gives you same experience as school..... intresting world you live in pal.

And the parent has the power to turn the console off. I know it's a shock what I just suggested.

It's almost as if school is supposed to supplant the community.

Do you come from a 3rd World nation? There are youth leagues. When I was a kid I was playing soccer and doing martial arts and neither was associated with the school. I also took part in my Church's youth group where we'd get together and play hockey, basketball, soccer, etc. Kids still do that.

For the longest time, Richmond always had a vibe of debutante balls at the Jefferson , ladies with white gloves, and Gentlemen with seersucker.

Now it just has a vibe of homicide.

And in that list of 50 cities with the highest murder rates in the US, Virginia has not one, not two, but THREE cities.

Petersburg at #2, Portsmouth at #18, AND Richmond at #31.

Homeschooling actually can turn out good, but before doing homeschooling parents need to do their research like joining groups of homeschooling parents where they can bring their children to socialize with each other and finding good private teachers.
Homeschooling can be great if parents made the proper research if they don't make good research if can turn out pretty bad.
Sadly I know It can turn out pretty bad because I was homeschooled but i didn't socialize with kids of my age which turn out in me being a socially inept(I'm trying to be more socially aware but I know I never would be 100% normal bc the damage is done forever)

Cause it does, you probably are one of those kids for sure XD Absolutely clueless.
Where do people when you ask them make friends? Most of your friendships come from schools and then jobs it wouldnt be a big fraction saying hobbies from when I was a kid and I used to stay at home most of my childhood, lol. Dudes living in 80s 90s, most of white families don't even let their children leave their yard without supervision, let alone let out their kids just hangout randomly in neighbourhood, especially with that car/gun culture you have in US.

Uncomparable, again irellevant as hell. Comparing youth leagues as you say with school where you are 5 times per week, 7 hours a day. With hobbies you do for not more than two hours, exchanging 5 words per session in some situations XDDD
Don't even quote me, you never make any sense. CLUELESS

So you basically want to support first case but contradict yourself with final statement, which it makes completely irellevant. Ofcourse homeschooling is bad in most of cases, this what happened to you is happening to alot of kids, they are socially completely unaware. Your parents are not pedagogs, your parents can't substitute your classmates. It's all just common sense, but there are some guys who will say otherwise like Richie who is another great example of homeschooling failiure.

That's because commies took it over. Petersburg is 80% Negro, and to be honest, after desegregation that's when it went downhill.
