Perhaps. Important this that we did it, while they did not. There are plenty of the potential port stations in the Pacific. If Polynesians could have colonized them hundreds of years before the Chinese was a bastion of power, that would be a piece a of cake for the Chinese to take the islands from them and do something in the manner of Columbus and the Bahamas.

Romanians were and are always not only Russophobe, but Slavophobe like Albanians as well. They do not care about Ukrainians and Russians. They want less Russians and Ukrainians and other Slavs, and get more empty places.

No, we are not happy because civilians suffer and die. Anyone with a bit of empathy can put themselves into their shoes. There are plenty of stories of those who escaped, leaving everything behind. And many, when they will return back home, will find nothing but a pile of ash and dust instead of their houses and belongings. We are not applauding and cheering because of this. If anything, I wish it all stopped, before it could escalate any further.

Now, Ukrainians were never great neighbors to us.
Their attitude was unfriendly, or indifferent at best. Even so, we did as much as we could to help them, during this war (donations of food, medicine, clothing, money, some even offering their own houses for accomodation). Think about it: if we were so blinded by hate, now that plenty of defenseless Ukrainians are on our territory, "in our hands" so to speak, you would've heard of murder cases. But you don't.
What if things were different, tho? What if, hundreds of thousands of Romanians were refugees in Ukraine, instead? How would've they treat us, knowing how they treated their minorities?
In my city, in the park where I often go to, I saw Ukrainian women with children but also some men in their 30s/40s. Most of these men, probably bribed, so they could run out of their country. Meanwhile, Romanian men from north of Bukovina, are sent to die in this dreaded war. I see a Ukrainian man in his 40s casually talking on the phone in the park, and after that, I read that a 19 years old ethnic Romanian boy dies, in this stupid war.

As for Romanians being "Slavophobes" , I don't see why they should be; given that, genetically they are partially admixed with Slavs. What's the point of talking about "Slavophobic Romanians", when two brotherly Slavic nations fight eachother, as we are speaking?! What...are you afraid we will take your emptied lands? lol. Why do you kill eachother and empty them, in the first place?! By some irony of fate, if the Romanians would occupy the emptied lands of neighboring Slavic nations, the Slavic heritage would still go on in there, because we carry it partially. Just the language would be different and the demand for wine and mãmãligã would increase. But that's a completely non realistic scenario anyways, meant to fuel with irrational fears.
