Reparations/apologies are a vile and idiotic notion. Utterly stupid, evil.
Only thing they do is, teach people that you should never give people an inch. That's not a good moral lesson.

The CofE as an institution has been watered down considerably, however there are still many Christian members of the Church of England who are true Christians who take their calling by Jesus to spread the Gospel seriously.
Aside from the "annoying" factor that you mention, I guess Jews (and other non Christians) may feel insulted when a Christian tells them that they would go to hell if they don't believe in Jesus Christ. I can understand that. However, that's just one of the known situations that come along with evangelism. Christians know it's the truth and therefore feel obliged to share their knowledge of hope and salvation with non-believers. Regardless of the possibility of bad reactions. It's part of the process.

I understand proselytising comes from a place of sincerity but it's still annoying to have people knock on your door to sell you something you don't believe in and is patently absurd.
I've never heard of a CofE guy trying to convert anyone from the community, it's really only Jehovah's Witnesses and Messianics who try.

Well, I am certainly not of the opinion that it's "absurd", and you can't possibly expect any Christian to agree with you on that. As for not believing in it, well that is what the Christian would hope and pray it would change. Because many have been successfully converted over the centuries. As I've mentioned previously, it's also a command from Jesus to Christians. A commission.
The CofE is not what it used to be. Good for "messianics", though, I guess it's only natural for them to reach out to their own ethnic group. They make an important contribution to Christianity in that regard.I've never heard of a CofE guy trying to convert anyone from the community, it's really only Jehovah's Witnesses and Messianics who try.
