According to oral family tradition E-FT155550 comes from a deserter of Napoleon's troops (1808-1813) who stayed in Spain and changed his surname.

Regardless of who is credited with their introduction into Europe, all American vegetables passed through the hands of the Spanish and Portuguese, from potatoes to peppers, passing through cocoa or pineapple.

The potato for example, although initially considered a food only for farm animals, was used as a source of cheap emergency food on the ships of the Spanish navy, because it lasted a long time in storage if the conditions were right. When the English boarded a Spanish ship, they always expected to find potatoes to take back to their ships.

It is assumed that the French popularized the potato for human consumption in Europe, but before in Spain (and I guess Portugal, and probably in England too) it was used mainly as animal feed when there was not enough grain or for human use, as low quality food (in its day believed that it was unhealthy to consume too many potatoes), in areas where wheat was not abundant.

New unknown vegetables were also introduced in Europe from Asia or Oceania, right now I remember sweet celery. Apart from the traffic of Asian species, it was monopolized especially by the Portuguese for about two centuries, until the Dutch gained commercial hegemony of this type of product.

Also Spanish (and probably Portuguese) introduced plants and animals in America, coming from Europe or Asia or Oceania. For example, the vines with which the wine of your country is made, the olive trees, the wheat, the sugar cane in the Caribbean, or the coffee, as well as animals, such as sheep, cows, chickens or horses.

Of all this, if you tried to find it, you would have found it yourself, so make a little effort and learn something about Spanish, Portuguese or European history in general, which after all is part of the history of your country and a large part of your ancestors.

We have talked about all this in innumerable threads, we have provided data, links to sources and information on these topics in this same forum.

Possibly you know all this perfectly, and the rest of us know that you only do it to troll.
