I like our song (probably because it does not sound as a stereotypical Eurovision song).

It is not a song for Eurovision; even if it were intended, it does not reach the level and quality of voices that would be expected for a festival, producing an ordinary result no more than an intimate audition for a group of friends or family, anyway it seems that the song recovers in the end, but it is already late.

The Portuguese chicks were respectable but the song also sucked.

They recorded an acoustic version, it works really really well, it's sublime. If you didn't like the song, I think this works well to give the listener a new prespective.

I have not noticed the difference. They are friends who have come together to sing, how have they been able to reach Eurovision? possibly the answer would be in who their parents are.

I am sincere, I cannot be otherwise. The whole group of Portuguese girls, how many are they, are just amateurs, I understand that with the staging they wanted to stand out in some way and they must have succeeded to some extent, but it's not enough, a cracked or broken voice can succeed but even in the case of the lead singer I would think she needs Strepsils.

The results speak for themselves and the Eurovision audience cannot be fooled. On the other hand, Spain should not give a single point to Italy in the next 10 years.

MARO's voice fits like a glove with the mood of the song. In all its unusualness it ends up being soothing. That's all that matters.

You either have your mind aired out and opened up to new ways through which you might enjoy something new... or before you even have that chance, you are already cancelling it out with mediocre judgements (that's a general rule in life btw). In this specific case, a mediocre judgement being: focusing on some hypothetical ailment that affects her voice and how that usually makes it sound bad to your ears, instead of focusing on how out it turns out to fit togheter like clockwork with all the other elements of the song and the performances.

As for her backing singers, even if they are amateurs (two of them were other contestants on the national selection that she invited to join her after she had won btw), and even if their individual voices are not at least a bit remarkable (and that is already one big if), they at many times during the song sing in different keys, creating a magnificent harmonization that has been one of the most praised aspects of the music, by those that appreciate it.

I liked the spanish perfomance, I don't understand the negative reviews.

I didn't like the oversexualised bum shaking. I think it is degrading to women. Imagine men performing like that with their arses hanging out and shaking for the titillation of the audience like crazy monkeys? I don't know what the other acts were like as I've only watched the Spanish one and the Australian one. If other acts were doing that I'd criticise them also. It's not the song but the arse bearing and shaking which looks like some primitive mating ritual that I really dislike.
