Smaller than a child toy is a teddy bear that was found wandering alone in an area of Florina and is now in the facilities of Arcturus, where it will be hosted for a year in order to then try to reintegrate it.
The teddy bear, about three months old, was rescued after the mobilization of residents of Polypotamos, Florina, who notified the Emergency Response Team (OAE) of Arcturus. Thomas, who was so baptized by the locals because he was found on Thomas's Sunday, managed to survive despite the difficult conditions.
As described in an announcement of the organization, he lost his mom for unknown reasons and wandered alone for at least 2-3 days at an age where his survival depends directly on breast milk, as it is his main food, but he managed to survive by eating fruits and greens. In fact, of the 11 teddy bears that Arcturus has reintegrated into nature so far, he is the only one who lived for so many days without his mother.
The first test performed on the teddy bear at the Wildlife Veterinary Clinic of the International Environment Center only showed that it was slightly underweight and malnourished, but in excellent health. It is already fed with a special milk preparation, a substitute for the mother, while it already shows a preference for small pieces of fruit.
Thomas will join Arcturus's treatment and reintegration program, with the aim of returning him to the natural environment in about a year.
