Surname Putin is recorded among Serbs in Banat in 18th century. Still exist, bit it is quite rare.
In the root of toponym Putinci is same word https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Putinci

In Russian "the road" is "doroga." In Russian "put" ("путь") is "the way."

So, if English PATH is related to Serbian PUT "road", as in Putin, and my name is Pathin, then what do I do?

Putin's Serbian roots by paternal line is just a possibility. Even if it is true, his paternal ancestor 250+ years ago would be a Serb. There is a very little chance of such distant origin being reflected in phenotype. By physical appearance Putin pass the best in northern Russia. Y dna test would solve mystery about his paternal line. If he really has distant Serbian paternal origin it would be visible after the y dna test, his matches would be among Serbs 300-400 years distant or something. There is a possibility about Finnic paternal origin of Putin, and also would be known after the y dna test. Maybe his paternal ancestors were from some Finno-Ugric tribe which got slavized/russified. And maybe he has mainstream Russian/East Slavic paternal line.
