Why has the "trans" issue suddenly blown up in everyone's faces?

When I was a kid in school, I heard once or twice that gays are just like heteros, and thats it. I didnt even know what a trans is, there were draq queens but they are not trans, they are males who dress as females for a party, and they are probably gay, but not trans. I never heard of trans at that time. And when we had to fill out a medical form you could check male or female, now when i had my covid shot 6 months ago there were like 5 gender identities you could check, not only male and female, but some cities like new york acknowledge 32 or 65 depends on the city, i guess it had not all place on the medical form, but it is really real if it is on the medical form, there i noticed something really changed.

I hear more about trans issues here at the Apricity in a day than six months in RL.

I hear about it nearly every day from my teenagers. For example there are posters at school promoting the after school support group for trans teens.

Is that due in part to the state you live in? People at TA suggest the West coast of the US is a hotbed of liberal politics.

It would be interesting to hear from members of other English speaking nations who have children at school whether this is commonplace in their regions.

I think it's quite obvious that the whole LGBT propaganda is about to destroy biological gender differences and norms related to it (heterosexual straight married couple as the basis of family, which ensures reproduction and development of a functional society as a whole), that simply put, will lead to self-destruction of the decadent West, by demographic collapse (low birth rates and great replacement by Third World foreigners).

I hear about it quite a bit in the media here tbf, it's become an 'issue' in this coming election, specifically whether trannies should be allowed to compete in womens/girls sports. One of the Liberal MPs has come under attack as 'transphobic' by Labor for for being on the wrong side of that question.

It's not a subject I'm interested in. The fact that it's even become an issue is evidence of how off-the-rails our politics are. You people (not you Yesno) chose clownworld, you made your bed, now lie in it.
