Mixed marriages to a somewhat greater extent in BiH started after WW1 and especially after WW2. Earlier in the past were very rare.

Catholic Romanian and Orthodox Croat are very rare species.

Average Serb would rather give his daughter to marry with Orthodox Greek than to Slav Catholic Croat.
Especialy after all bloodshed and wars we had with them in 20th century.

I can say that there are no mental differences between Ukrainians and Russians. For example, Putin is a hero for a significant number of ethnic Ukrainians, even despite today's conflict. And Putin is a very Russian archetype. Ukrainians like to think that they are very different from Russians, but in reality there is not much difference between ineffective Ukrainian democracy and Russian authoritarianism. One thing can easily turn into the other.
I believe that there are no "mental differences" between peoples, but there are intellectual ones.

I heard for existence of Greek Catholic Romanians in Transylvania during the Habsburg rule who later mostly returned to Orthodoxy. I never heard for Roman Catholic Romanians.
