If you are not paranoid you are not paying attention. Anyway, what he said might be mostly true. Obviously, not all conspiracy theories are false but the media has conditioned people, like Pavlov's dogs, to reject anything labelled a 'conspiracy theory' out of hand.

BTW, psychiatry is a pseudo-science whose purpose is to depoliticize the oppressive forces that capitalism puts on people. Being an an expert on mental illness is like being an expert on unicorns. Psychiatry is fundamentally a moral and political project that serves the ruling neoliberal capitalist class by largely policing the working class. The neoliberal capitalist class seeks to remove itself from the problems it creates in society by denying social change at the community level while offering only individual 'solutions' e.g. mental illness labels and psych drugs. Under capitalism material survival rather than rational thinking e.g. objective science sets the tone of the epoch.
