Great thread Teutone, as much as I despise the entire decadent Western culture and Judeo-Masonry, whose current center is in the US and especially on East+West Coasts, I have nevertheless a fascination for NYC as well. I guess Hollywood/mass media propaganda is too strong even on someone like me...
Anyway, a classic scene in my mind is the John Travolta's walk on Bay Ridge in Saturday Night Fever :
In general, I do have a passion for the old New York Italian-American "mafia" subculture (I guess it has disappeared nowadays) :
On a side note, interestingly, the girls walking in this clip (which is supposed to take place in the early 60s) are paradoxically very "modern" in terms of fashion style... funny to see how cyclical the fashion industry is

Another interesting fact about NYC: along with Chicago, it is one of the few cities where Whites, Blacks and Hispanics make up roughly equal proportions of the population.

AFAIK the general American white flight from big cities towards suburbs in the US, has been counterbalanced in NYC by the migration of ex-USSR people
There are also a lot of South Asians, East Asians and Arabs, I think they cannot be neglected anymore since they must represent a double-digit population

Yeah, NYC definitely does have a lot more of what used to be called "ethnic Whites" than most other US cities would. Btw, when I went to NYC we had a guided tour of Little Italy in Manhattan, and our tour guide said most of the residents there now are people from ex-Yugoslavia.
Whites, Blacks (many of them Caribbean immigrants and a few African immigrants) and Hispanics make up roughly 30% each of the NYC population, with the remaining 10% or so being those other groups. There are also a lot of South Asians, East Asians and Arabs, I think they cannot be neglected anymore since they must represent a double-digit population
