Grace, why did you ignore the following from your own source?
You literally provide support against what you claimed and supported what I stated. What you had in bold doesn't detract from that reality.
What I posted discussed the downward trend across the Western world, including the US.
Also from your sources:
A mess of an article.Whether the tightening of Swiss gun laws as proposed by the government will lead to even greater public safety is unclear. Studies show that there is a correlation between gun control legislation and low rates of gun-related deaths, including homicide.
But a further tightening of already strong existing controls, such as banning certain types of semi-automatic weapons, may not have much obvious impact on the level of gun violence. Controlling who has access to dangerous weapons may also lower the incidence of gun homicide, but more research in this area is needed.
Demographics is the elephant in the room. Any argument that doesn't address demographic differences is a worthless argument. There are different patterns of behavior between groups (for various reasons) that need to be addressed when discussing public policy. Switzerland doesn't exactly have gangs like MS-13, Bloods, Crips, Latin Kings, etc.
