Default Prussia of the Balkans and the ungreatfull Bulgarians

I was fascinated to learn that Bulgaria had the strongest land armed forces before the first world war.
It was named as Prussia of the Balkans, armoured and tought the war methods from the Russians.

Bulgaria also experienced big economic growth at that time.
And being able to mobilize more than 1 million soldiers was impressive.

Nowadays our army is a joke though

    Only on the paper.

Bulgaria lost second Balkan war 1913, and in WW1 Serbian significantly weakened Serbian army humiliated Bulgarian army on Macedonians front.

Battle of Bregalnica when Serbs defeated Bulgarians in second Balkan war was source of Bulgarian frustration and a desire to take revenge on the Serbs, because of that they committed many crimes crimes against Serbian civilians in southern and eastern Serbia and pro-Serbian Slavic speaking Macedonians in WW1 and WW2 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Bregalnica

Bulgaria ruled over vast territories, up to the Carpathians, beyond the Danube. Romanians are in good part Vlachicized Bulgarians which were Slavicized Thracian-Turkic-Roman mix

You should still never forget about how Austro-Hungary saved serbian statehood during the serbo-bulgarian war, this is an important part of your history.
The Serbo-Bulgarian War or the Serbian–Bulgarian War (Bulgarian: Сръбско-българска война, Srăbsko-bălgarska voyna, Serbian: Српско-бугарски рат, Srpsko-bugarski rat) was a war between the Kingdom of Serbia and Principality of Bulgaria that erupted on 14 November [O.S. 2 November] 1885 and lasted until 28 November [O.S. 16 November] 1885. Despite Bulgaria being a vassal state of the Ottoman Empire, the Turks did not intervene in the war. Serbia took the initiative in starting the war but was decisively defeated. Austria demanded Bulgaria stop its invasion, and a truce resulted. Final peace was signed on 3 March [O.S. 19 February] 1886 in Bucharest. The old boundaries were not changed. As a result of the war, European powers acknowledged the act of Unification of Bulgaria which happened on 18 September [O.S. 6 September] 1885.[1][2][3]

At the end of the day you have much more refugees (Izgbeglici) scattered all over the western world (which you hate) than Bulgarians or Germans, because when you don't have russia helping you, you are the biggest cowards imaginable.
