Default Why are Greeks stereotyped as darker and similar to southern Italians?

I have seen several videos of Greeks interviewed and they seem CLEARLY lighter skinned than Italians from central and southern Italy. Why then is it so common to see them as darker than Italians and even the darkest in Europe? Why are people retarded and without knowing shit see that geographically it is further south and then jump without ever having seen a Greek to the idiotic conclusion that they are darker?

These are Neapolitan in winter, southern Italy

The difference seems totally obvious to me

Explain to me why the idea that Greeks are darker is so common

Well, they're not far off pigmentation-wise from southern Italians.
