Even compared to other "far-right" movements they sound like a bunch of fruitcakes. Also, I love it how lots of Catalan nationalists of all stripes complain that Castilian is an 'imperialist imposition', yet happily wave placards around in the most imperialistic language in mankind's history, i.e. English!

And who is going to vote for them then? demographics work against them because the majority of Catalans have some kind of ancestry from those regions, plus they're all old.



It's the first time I've heard of them, the only more or less successful far-right political party was called Plataforma per Catalunya, but they were less idiots and didn't despise the southern Spaniards so much.

What about "Unitat Nacional Catalana" this was the previous "neo-nazi" catalan party until it was dissolved in 2014 (and this one was created).

English is the lingua franca. Although I don't think this group complains about that spanish is imperialist, they just don't want it in their land

Even though some have accused me of being "anti-Spanish" in the past, I am among the first to point out that criticisms of (real or imagined) Spanish imperialism and crimes against others are often deeply hypocritical and one-eyed, especially when coming from native English-speakers.

Well, on the peninsula (except the Basques) we all speak a fairly imperialist language (a poorly spoken Latin) In the end, history is as it is, and English is a beautiful language (luckily it's not German ).
