Trips you should have taken but didn't

Are there any trips you already paid for, prepared for and planned but in the end did not go? Share your experiences. I had two such cases and unfortunately missed two fantastic south Euro destinations.

Trip 1) Greece. My high school class went to celebrate graduation with a week long trip to Greece, which turned out epic. We traveled via boat from Italy and trip included northern Greek mainland, Athens, Peloponnese and some smaller Island, If I recall correctly. I had a major bike accident and didn't go. Still sorry I did not see Greece, especially since I have minor Greek ancestry.

Trip 2) Spain, Seville. My best friend, ex boyfriend and me paid for 3-day winter (December) stay in Sevilla because our hometown team had Europa league match against Real Betis. We reserved beds to sleep in as well, but days before the trip I canceled it because of my intense fear of flying. Best friend and BF went alone in the end and completely enjoyed pleasant winter weather in a very beautiful city. I regret missing Seville as well.

1-New York, my brother-in-law used to go there every year to buy stuff for his business,I didn't go because I thought a too long plane for just 5 days of stay.(jet lag etc...).

2-During a mission abroad we had a one week permit, we could choose between going to Thessaloniki (Greece) or Sofia (Bulgaria). I didn't go anywhere because I had already chosen to leave the army and I wanted to save as much money as possible when I did (after months of not living a normal life, people used to spend a lot of money on those leaves).

3-We plan to go to Poland & Baltic States or Russia (St. Petersburg), but the pandemic started. That trip is still pending, maybe this year...

Edit:Well, I have noticed that feiichy specified "paid for, prepared for and planned", and 1 and 3 were not paid, just planned and prepared.

I think the only 2 trips I had planned but never fulfilled were thanks to the same lady lol

First one: I was planning to go and cheer for my country's team at the Russia World Cup, haven't paid for the flight yet but had made some reservations and paid for a train ticket when I started dating this girl... since my other reason to go (even more important than the match) was to repopulate Russia I didn't consider it morally appropiate in that context so I had to abort the whole operation.

Second one: We had planned a trip to Aruba, I already had the reservation, tickets and even got the yellow fever shot... out of the blue the relationship ended and that was it. Luckily I was able to change destination and I could make it to Miami and its malls... nothing better after a breakup than compulsive shopping.

Fort Lauderdale 2014 - I was supposed to travel down to Florida with my friends for Spring Break but I got mono right before the trip and had to stay home. My friends got with all these beach babes and I was at home dry humping a pillow. Not fair!

The only one I can think of was back in April 2020
My ex and I scheduled a 7 day cruise that departed from Miami.
We would have stopped at St. Lucia, The Bahamas and Kingston, Jamaica.
Thanks to Covid the cruise was cancelled. We were refunded the the money as credit but never rebooked it.
We’re no longer together so I guess he will use the credit later on
