Describe your area/district.

I live in the "Fan" , western portion of my city. Its called "The Fan" because the streets spread out like a Fan. There are lots of old Victorian row houses with big porch verandas where people sit down and enjoy conversations over sweet iced tea . It is almost all white but just a few streets away it is a ghetto area with mostly Negroes. Many houses have large white columns in front. The neighborhood extends to the main Boulevard and just west of there are commercial shops and two chain grocery stores. Behind my house is a parking lot and behind it, a gas station


The area is largely middle to upper middle class, white. Some families, but also quite a few rental flats with college kids and vibrant parties.

We bordered former run down industrial area and factory sites in middle of the city.

We border it to this day, but it getting smaller every day - the necessary industries are relocated outside the city, their empty territories are built up and gentrified, historically valuable buildings are reconstructed and given to other purposes. Some research institutes are still working.
All this within 7-8 min from our house on foot.

I'm living in Izmailovo, eastern outskirts of Moscow, i just love it, even tho I know i won't spend whole life there. It's a place where i spent half of my childhood and huge part of adolescence, it used to be way more harsh in 90s and early 2000s, now a very safe place to live, prolly way more safe than most of European capitals outskirts.

Мой любимый район "на правой стороне" Москвы. Ещё ВДНХ неплох.
Но только старое, классическое Измайлово, между Сиреневым бульваром и парком, а ни в коем случае не Щелчок и не Южное Измайлово.
У вас там жители молодцы, не дали продлить Измайловский проспект до Балашихи и тем самым убить камерность и тишину района.

Южное Измайлово это не Измайлово вовсе, скорее Ивановское. А так моя субкультурная юность прошла в районе Новокузнецкой) ВДНХ люблю, учился там рядом на Ботсаду.

I live at a 2 hectares single site in Mecklenburg (Northern Germany) in the forest at a lake. Btw. I had the gate built some years ago and tried to get it fit to the house (built 1937), but after I'm a layman I first watched a number of gates for a period of time when I was around and collected ideas and eventually it worked out, I think.

I live in a nice suburb in the very eastern outskirts of the city. Is majority white but with some few Hispanics, Asians (mostly Nepalese) and blacks, here and there.
