I live in a suburban area thats literally a few blocks from the city and city public transportation which is nice for me.

Krasnodar has many homeless people and sometimes they are a really awful sight. Yes, very many of them look alcoholics. I can see why they are fewer in colder places like Moscow - harder to survive there.

But I talked about alcoholics who live in own flats.

I guess I know why Moscow has fewer alco flat owners. The higher price on flats and on living makes them try to sell the flats and move elsewhere.

I hate that contrast of low and super high buildings like in this picture. And they usually belong to completely different styles. Unfortunately, we have some of such not far away too.

It used to be full of alcoholics when there were many factories still operating around the block (~40 similar houses). Do not forget that most of the apartments in such houses used to be communal. The disappearance of industry and alcoholics in this territory can be considered a de-Sovietization of this places (I never liked the late Union, its "ethics" and mental traumas imposed on the population, but deindustrialization without creating new enterprises instead is a crime anyway).
Now it seems quiet in our yard, but in the neighboring one, all sorts of vulgar songs are often heard half a block away from one of the apartments

As for the buildings, Moscow has always been eclectic, a kind of patchwork quilt of all styles and eras. For this, it's loved.

Да по ту сторону Щелчка вообще не фонтан - автовокзал с его контингентом, Гольяново и Метрогородок с меньшинством славян и в окружении промзоны. Имхо, лучше жить подальше оттуда.

Yes, housing in the central and near-central part of Moscow is often too expensive - families of alcoholics most often sell it and leave for larger apartments outside the city. I have already said that there will soon be no outcasts and pensioners in the center - this is the official line of the party.

I live in a small town of a couple thousand people. The old part of the town is full of old people and government-subsidized crack and meth addicts. The new part of the town is full of white refugees from Toronto and the surrounding suburban cities. Pretty cool place, always something going on, and everyone knows everyone for the most part. Some not so great parts are the fact that we have no real grocery store (closest one is 15 minutes away by car), zero public transportation, and the amount of tourists in the summer since we have a pretty popular camping site and nature park here.

I live in a small town, very small town 4000 inhabitants. I live in a Gemeindebau, that means community building, the rent is less expensive then in private owned property. Many are migrants, but i wouldnt call it a ghetto. It is clean, polite, and everything.
