Central West states, Paraná, Santa Catarina, São Paulo and some Amzonian states like Roraima, Rondônia and Amazonas are very anti communism.

At least here in Brazil, the Army is extremely anti communist in the whole country, unlike Venezuela. Unfortunetely, its also risk the democracy, but communism is much worser.

Let's hope there's no fraud in the upcoming elections and if something ever happens, the army would be on the side of the people. Fucking commies have no place in Brasil.

Sao Paulo seems very safe, I would assume a lot of gun owners there, more sane moral citizens, strong laws + a lot of cops?

I would say 6.6 is not a safe place, but I got its context. It would be similar to Uruguay or Southern US states like Louisiana I believe... Chile and Argentina are about 2-3 homicides by 100.000 inhabitants and I do consider these high homicide level.

I was reading brazilian gun law, it is not that easy to get a gun. So I believe it is due the fact Sao Paulo is a right wing state mostly while Bahia is a left wing state mostly.

Well Louisiana has 12.5 rate, while states like New Hampshire and N. Dakota @ around 1. So depends on the state (regardless of gun laws).. very interesting.

100K/10 (10 homicides per year for every 100 inhabitants) above would be problematic, according to the UN. Many homicides in LATAM involve drug trafficking and do not involve ordinary people.

My city with 400K inhabitants is safer than São Paulo, even with a higher homicide rate 100K/13. São Paulo has a lot of robbery.
