    Default What do you eat on an average day?

    There are threads for breakfast, lunch, etc. but this is about how much you eat throughout the day, on an average day.

    Yesterday, for example, I didn't have breakfast, just drank coffee with milk but no sugar.
    Then for lunch I had minced patties, and mashed potatoes and cucumber salad, really chopped up, maybe 4 or 5 of the patties, 2 times mashed potatoes, 2 spoonfuls each. 4-5 pieces of cucumber.

    Then during the night and in the evening I ate half of Milka chocolate, but half a one of the big ones, so about the same as a small milka chocolate.

    I do it similarly every day, I don't eat breakfast and dinner (very much double portion for lunch) but only the chocolate was probably the exception for normal it's apples, strawberries, watermelon, peaches, bananas, cherries and seasonal fruit sometimes pineapple too, especially in winter when there are no strawberries or cherries.

    I don't eat breakfast, just coffee either black or with a bit of oat milk.

    Lunch is usually something small, because i never feel like eating until late afternoon/early evening. I usually have a smoothie, or salad, eggs (with tortilla or toast), or ramen.

    A snack before dinner is usually something salty like olives, pickles, or nuts.

    At dinner half my plate is vegetables, and the other half is something like rice, potatoes, or pasta, and then a protein, either beans or poultry. I don't eat red meat.

    I eat a bowl of granola or muesli every night before bed, because i have a hard time falling asleep if i feel the slightest bit hungry.

    I used to prefer to not eat too soon after waking up in the mornings beyond water/coffee....in more recent years, I’ve gone into the habit of eating a protein-rich breakfast (usually also with potatoes).....I’ll take a multivitamin after...then coffee a little later.

    Lunch and dinner is Usually more modest and just depends on the day. I find myself usually doing lean meats as protein for lunch. I’m not big on snacking...I do have a protein shake or a granola bar between lunch and dinner.

    I eat a decent amount of red meat, most weeks.

    And now a bit of whisky!

    If I don't work, I eat twice a day. If I work, three times.

    For breakfast I usually eat different food: sandwich with cheese, ham or prosciutto, cottage/fresh cheese with cream, canned fish with olive oil, oat flakes with milk or fruit/vegetable smoothie. Sometimes I only eat fruit and drink coffee with milk and sugar.

    For lunch sometimes only sandwich or salad, sometimes pizza or meat with rice/pasta/potatoes, vegetable stew etc. If I eat more for lunch, in the evening I eat only fried eggs (sometimes with mushrooms or zuchini, cheese or bacon) or smoothie or slice of cake, for example. But eggs are my favorite dinner. If I have only sandwich or salad for lunch, I cook something for dinner.

    If I don't work, like today, I eat one meal as late breakfast and another as late lunch/early dinner.

    When I have breakfest it is usually bread and eggs, sometimes i make a fritatta with cheese, plus a cup of coffee with milk and sporadically Yerba Mate.

    Meal 1 is mostly pasta, either with bolognese I cook in large batches or al pomodoro made with tomato passata that is cheap and practical, with a dose of grated cheese (I grate it myself, obviously) that can get a lactose intolerant killed. My favourie shapes are tagliatelle for meat sauces, penne and spaghetti for tomato. If I'm very lazy I make Aglio, olio e peperoncino.

    I often make a basic protein shake when I see that I need it or don't feel like defrosting meat. For the 6pm merienda I am making a pancake with eggs, cheese and tapioca starch. For instance the only thing I really care about is to have 100g protein a day. More than that is useless if you're not an athlete or a very big man.

    Meal 2 is some meat and a different carbohydrate than meal 1. Mostly polenta as I buy the steamed flakes and make it in less than 5 minutes. Not like grandma's but with polenta, anything goes. I usually broil an entire chicken leg or a "milanesa" to eat with it. Rice is cool too.

    A "weird" dish I love to do is cutting potatoes into cubes, frying them for 20 minutes in olive oil, adding 3/4 eggs and scrambling them with it. Pretty much a spanish Tortilla de Patatas without the flipping.

    As I'm living alone salads are rare. I eat a lot of fruit though, as dessert or snacks. Alfajores are the one junk food I love and can't get rid of. Jorgito Blanco and the "Bajonero" types are incredible.

    After meals I often have a cup of coffee with milk. Sometimes I have three a day.

    On saturdays I will have a burger or a pizza with some alcohol, usually wine. Sunday lunch I may get some empanadas or asado, then later ice cream if I'm feeling good. Argentinian ice cream is amazing.

    I keep normal weight because I work out so I need this much food, and am not big on sugar and oils/greases. I add less than enough to cover the pan whenever I sear stuff. Also, the only processed calory bomb I have are the Alfajores, and even the most decadent ones have less than 250 calories.

    For breakfast I usually just have a cup of tea or coffee. I eat a bit later on in the morning so it’s more of a “brunch”. I don’t know why but I feel so nauseas if I eat early on in the morning. I usually have buttered toast, an oat bar or something savoury like sausages and eggs.
    For lunch, usually a pasta salad with some fruit.
    Dinner is usually meat, rice and salad. It’s usually consistent like that.
    I batch-cook dinner so everything is prepared beforehand because I find evenings to be the busiest time of day, when little ones are getting tired and need my attention the most.
