Default How is Europe going to replace Russian gas?

The following is what I have read in a nutshell.

Russian gas is going to hit European countries including the largest European economy Germany very hard and that will have big indirect impact on everyone. Germany shut down most of its nuclear powerplants because of dumb hippies and Germany will soon shut down the rest of them. Even if they want to restart them if would take years and would cost money.

When it comes to thermo powerplants Europe imports much of Russian coal too, not only gas.

Hippies want green energy, but green energy is expensive and will raise costs of energy the same way and will take time to build enough green energy sources to replace Russian gas.

American liquified gas is much more expensive compared to Russian gas for various reasons.

According to analysts North African countries can't supply not even close enough gas and oil to Europe and they don't want to invest in production because that would decrease oil prices. They love current prices.

What is going to happen during and after this winter? Apparently when winter comes and gas demand increases Europe is about to enter dark times. What is the way out? What have you read?

Fuck Obama and his government. They planted seeds of this energy crysis. But also fuck Putin. He could have played this a lot smarter and less evil too.

Portugal and Spain can suffix at the present 30% of Europe's gas needs and this percentage can double or triple if the EU wishes to. The Iberian Peninsula is currently seen as an "island" separated from the rest of continental Europe in terms of energy since we do not depend on Russia. Why they have not restored the pipeline connections from Portugal\Spain to France and the rest of Europe yet? You need to ask the lobbyists and all the dubious politicians in the other countries who willingly made themselves dependent on Russia, in some cases relying 100% on Russia to meet their needs. Make no mistake though, the country who is going to be hit the hardest will be Russia who has been able to keep itself somehow afloat because the energy contracts signed before the war are still in force. Once they expire in a few months it is likely that some countries are going to withdraw from new contracts and others are going to try to reduce on their imports as much as they can.

I didn't know that and I am surprised nobody is mentioning Spain and Portugal in aiding this energy crisis.

And what do you think where does electricity come from if not from gas powerplants and thermal powerplants excluding nuclear and hydro powerplants? What do you think why is there such talk about nuclear powerplants, solar energy and Russian gas? It's not only about car gas and gas heating.

Spain and Portugal will not have gas supply problems, if required this could be imported as liquid by ship directly to the storage and regasification plants. The infrastructure is oversized so it could supply the rest of Europe, but there are no connections

Spain and Portugal will store most of the EU's liquefied natural gas reserves.

This is clear from a blog post by the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell.

“We need to speed up work to better integrate the European market into the Iberian Peninsula, which is currently an electricity island in Europe because it has a greater capacity to store liquefied natural gas than other European countries. These efforts can be successful if we invest in relationships with potential liquefied natural gas suppliers not as a short-term but as part of our interest in developing more strategic relationships, working for renewables such as hydrogen and solar energy,”

It is obvious that Iberia is going to be the gateway for gas from America, so they should start thinking about creating gas pipelines to central Europe
