Why they did not kill my grandfather?

He was half serb half gypsy. He was taken captive as worker in hungary and austria later. He was taken captive from Serbia and transported to Austria to work. After the war he was still alive, he didnt mentioned gas chambers etc. Of course it is bad enough to be a forced worker, to be forced to work and taken your freedom and forced to hard labour, but it wasnt gas chambers and such. Do you think they didnt know he was a gypsy?

There were no gas chambers. He wasn't exterminated because nobody was exterminate people on purpose.
