It's basically the US answer to cricket (I find both boring). Similarly, gridiron is basically the US answer to rugby (and IMHO is much inferior to the latter, especially with all that ludicrous headgear the players wear).

Yeah I like it too. In the UK, it is played a lot at schools but, for whatever reason, hasn't especially taken off as a popular pro sport.
