Default British members - what is your identity?

(The poll is for British members only, but non-Brits are free to comment)

Members from the British Isles - what are your identities? Do you identify as British first and your ethnicity or just as your ethnicity.

Note: I just noticed I forgot to add an option for 'British only'. If a mod could add it then that'd be great. If not I suppose people will just have to click 'Other'.

Scottish first and British second. When I say British, I mean in a Scandinavian type way. A cultural and Geographic identity, but not political.

After all we've been thru together, seems ludicrous to say we're not British too.

Scottish first, British second. That's the only natural way for me. I do feel closer to the English than to any other non-Scottish group, and I would also include the Irish and Welsh in this "Britishness". (To a certain degree, I'd also extend this to the Canadians/Aussies/Kiwis.)

Primarily Welsh, British if I'm in a good mood (and that's not often)

I guess I am a British citizen in the making , a Scottish resident and an ethnic Castilian of mainly Basque and Cantabric extraction.

Having lived in Scotland 5+ years (and probably still a few more to come) wherever I go after I will always think of myself as partly Scottish as I think of my self partly Andalusian (lived in Seville 5+ years too)

British and Spanish are citizenships , passports, and macro-ethnicities. They also refer largely to geographical regions:the British isles and the Iberian peninsula (hope Portuguese understand what I'm talking about here, not trying at all to diminish their national identity)

British and Spanish also refer to some general cultural trends and ways of living due to the common history and closeness , that are common within every ethnicity/nationality of both Great Britain and Iberia respectively and couldn't be eroded even if split into 20 mini-states (God spare us)

Scottish, Castilian, Andalusian or Basque, to name a few are specific regiona/ethnic terms that denote the characteristics of a specific nationa/regional identity within a larger area/state/macro-culture

So, as having been a citizen of two large states/kingdoms that are composed of several ethnicities, regions and nationalities, from which I have spent large periods of time in several of them I find it very hard to label myself with just one word. But if I have too, I guess British citizen of Iberian stock, being both terms the more inclusive and broad, would be the chosen ones.

Even though I have transcended in a way my own ethnicity (Castilian), I still regard myself as such, and by the nature of the other regions where I have spent my whole adult life (Andalusia and Scotland) , politically I think of my self as being in the opposition of both Kingdoms (both the Spanish and the British), supporting to a large extent the movements that demand more autonomy for themselves (such as Scottish or Basques) or the re-union and recovery of the ancestral lands (Castile) , in seen that both crowns and forms of government are poisonous for the survival and preservation of the local cultures,in the name of a grey macdonalization. Not necessarily support independence, would really like that we all could find a better solution to live together, and not saying either that the interests and agendas behind some of the nationalistic/ regionalistic movements are less corrupt or poisonous, just talking in a purely conceptual way
