    Can you be more specific?
I really like Victorian England, because it was conservative and thus better,i also like the British Empire for spreading the Gospel and printing Bibles for many nations and ethnic groups (and less importantly, but still good, giving them roads and technology) I also appreciate English Language;Shakespere, and the King James Bible. i know there are some isssues, but i still like this land of hope and glory, it has a good history and helped improve the world to an extent
in short, i like the Conservative and Traditional Aspects of Britain

    But what is your question.
Sorry i didnt make it clear enough. I want to know to which degree the Britain i described is "alive" nowadays, and also if a foreigner can "serve/work for" that Britain. (How? international relationships, diplomacy, journalistm, i personally have a lot of resources i could use in Britain's favour)

My identity is primarily British, then British Isles, then English, Scottish, Irish.

If I had to choose one it would be British.

I don't understand people who live on the island of Britain who deny they are British.

Because to some British is basically a continuation of English in history, so some can struggle.

But i don't think it has to be political really, for example Scandinavia.

See, to me that means allowing the English to own the identity British, even though it predates them. Scots have just as much claim to the word, if not more so.

See I have to watch what I say, as my English girlfriend is on this forum. I fear for my life!

We were a mix of Celts post Roman collapse. Scots, Picts and Britons. Wales though, yes.

Shouldn't we say britons instead of British and there must have been a few hundred years of non-usage and it came back as British in modern usage?

I meant in the political sense that England barely changed in 1707 and it continued on the same. We latched on.
