British is, after all, a cultural tendency rather than an actual national identity.
Such sentiments as these would have gotten you tarred and feathered in Boston in 1776.

    Long live the Queen.

I hope William ascends as that would cement Australia into the commonwealth for another reign. Help fend off the republicans and corporations that push an alternate constitution. It's hideous. Not that the Republican Politicians and Judiciary care much for the Australian commonwealth constitution anyway, with all the unconstitutional changes that have gone through with out a referendum...

    I voted Scots, Brit.

If Australian, Scot, Brit was there I would of voted for that.

My grandparents came from Scotland, I still have close family living there, and dual citizenship to GB. I see myself as being a Scot and an American.

This poll also depends on how many English members are here, how many Scottish here, etc. If trying to determine how many of each group identify as British, I'd have made a separate poll for each group.
I've put separate options for each group.

Right. But the people of Cornwall need not be separated from the rest of England. It was lost to the Welsh many years ago. It is an English county, despite a minorities disaffection. My opinion.

They all might go for British, as anyone in any particular American state would vote American.
I always thought you were from Devon. Well I'd say if you see Cornwall as your county level identity then go for English and British.
I put the Cornish option on for Cornish Nationalists, I suppose it didn't occur to me about the Saxons in Cornwall.

Cornish Nationalists would have the whole county break away from England, but much of the east is Saxon and English. We need a new county in Eastern Cornwall really.

    Yep

Nice history. I think with Americans we'll get more identifying as British.

I voted English and British, though in fact I more regularly refer to myself as British than English, and the British identity has greater emotional power for me.

My personal opinion is that it is wishful thinking for you colonials to think of yourselves as being British, and an insult to members who are British by birth.
Have you noticed that if you rearrange the letters in ‘illegal immigrants’, and add just a few more letters, it spells, ‘Go home you free-loading, benefit-grabbing, resource-sucking, baby-making, non-English-speaking ********* and take those other hairy-faced, sandal-wearing, bomb-making, camel-riding, goat-f*****g raghead c***s with you.?
