I used to think about this a lot when I was younger, it really has to do with what the older people you see everyday dress style, you seen them dressing the way they do now in the 80s and 90s. So, it gives you this false perception that they looked much older. Plus, on top of that, overall health has gotten better so people of course are gonna age a little better.

Moral maturity corresponds to appearance. Zoomers are almost all infantile, many of them even at 40 years old will look like old boys.
A hard life with a lot of responsibility, as well as force majeure like a big war, makes people grow up earlier.

You sound like an old fart here, don't take offense at that, please. There's a lot of immoral or nasty people who look their age or older than that, and suffering really does not dignify. It's a myth as well.

And for instance actually teenage girls are more likely to look older than in the past because of entering puberty at younger age than in the past, it's a by-product of increasing obesity rates in the world, more weight means excessive estrogen and earlier pubescence.

It's mixed. For instance, I look like I'm 13-14 when I'm actually 20. Everyone in my family thinks it's odd. I still don't have any visible lines when I raise my eyebrows.
Some teenagers look like they are 20 no matter if they're 16 or 18. I remember that in the past, young people tended to look rather young for their age, not older.
I have seen multiple teenagers that can grow thick beards like only adults can do.

Yes, I am indeed an old fart. Generation X in the body of a millennial, or, in other words, born too late.

That generation had a lot more pressure probably but then take into consideration facials, generally skin care habits weren't as popular or easy to attain. Camera devices have been improved immensely as well. The same person you took a picture in the 70's might have looked younger with a modern device.

Well, they're Germans, they're supposed to look like archaic brutes but then again Goebbels looked like a manchild. Anglo-Canadians used to call German-Canadian "squareheads" but I'm sure other footballers from the same decade also looked older than their age as well. Perhaps it's sexual selection, diet, higher testosterone in older generations, genetics in general.

Yeah, found a pic of my dad when he was 26 and looked more like he was in his late 30's or even 40. When he was 19 he looked like he was well into his mid to late 20s from an army pic. Perhaps they pumped soldiers up with steroids back in the day or they had nothing else better to do than eat healthy and train all day.

I think people are looking older today than in the past. I notice it with teenagers I see at work who look 30 plus years old. When. I was a teenager in the late 90s , senior class was all baby faced and more innocent looking. It feels weird too because I find some of these females attractive and realize I'm old to be their dad. They don't look young , though.
