I often fall down rabbit holes chasing the origins of music.
This was in my YouTube feed this morning. I really thought Mendelssohn had quoted the tune of "Hark the Herold Angels" in his Cantata... Nope, Mendelssohn composed the tune for Festgesang and it went the opposite way.
