She's probably not a literal man. She's almost definitely "the man" in her marriage, though.

It's his way of coping with having a deeply unattractive personality.
If he can convince himself that none of the women are good enough for him, or attractive enough, (or that attractive women are trans), then he doesn't have to deal with the real issue.
Easier to blame circumstances than to grow and actually become a better person that people want to be around.

Did you know there was a trans woman he met on the Distorted View Discord who he thought was a cis-woman? She wasn't hiding it or anything, he was just so horned up for her that he completely missed all the times she SAID she was trans. Eventually someone told him she was trans. He's been obsessed with beveling various women were trans ever since. He even accused Betty White of being trans.

I think he even blames the trans woman for his being so damn oblivious.

That Discord has a #NSFW channel where she posted full frontal nudes. A running theory is that he knew she was trans all along and only turned against her when he finally accepted that she really IS a lesbian with no interest in cis-men.
