I don't think maybe you people understand. They claim they led a revolt with the Austrians against the Ottomans in 1689-90 when all the historical evidence supports that this was Albanians in Kosovo but they changed the characters but not the events. But the actual texts from these events support that it was the Albanian Pjeter Bogdani who brought 6,000 men to the Austrians and another 20,000. And the Albanian died during the revolt as did one of the Austrian commanders but the person the Serbs used for this event, Arsenije Crnojevic, never dies but they claim he led a great exodus of Serbs out of Kosovo and into Hungary which is also known as ''The Great Migration of Serbs'' . Kosovo then became empty and a mass immigration of Albanians from Northern Albania followed but its completely nonsense and has no historical evidence. The texts during this events do not refer to him nor any kind of great exodus of Serbs.

The Austrians actually met Albanians in Prizren, Kosovo and this is what all the archives support. But they changed the version.

In Kosovo in 1689 there was an Albanian revolt against the Ottomans, Albanians joined the Austrians, The Albanian Catholic Bogdani gathered a bunch of Albanian Muslims from Kosovo and Catholic tribes from Northern Albania and all the archives support this but in the Serbian version they changed all the people into Serbs and claim these were all Serbs and claim there was a ''Great Migration of Serbs 1690'' , and that only some Catholics followed them, but none of these texts from that time refer to such events nor to the characters they used. Since this was actually Albanians who led the revolt, both Muslims and Christian Albanians and western/central Kosovo had an Albanian majority.

In 1689 during the Austrian-Ottoman wars, the Albanian Catholic Pjeter Bogdani organized a pro-Austrian movement and a resistance against the Ottomans in Kosovo together with the Albanian Catholic Toma Raspasani that included both Muslims and Christians.[63] An English embassy in Istanbul in 1690 reported of Austrians having made contact with 20,000 Albanians in Kosovo that had turned their weapons against the Turks

In their version they claim a 500 year war against Muslims but in the real version both Muslims and Christian Albanians rose up against the Ottoman Empire on the Austrian side... The revolt was started by Catholic Albanians and reprisals followed mostly on them yet in the Serbian version they claim 500 year oppression on Orthodox people. But none of these texts from that time refer to such events.

Toponym Kosovo and similar exist throughout the Slavic speaking world.

In Dalmatian hinterland exist Kosovo polje (field) also known as Dalmatian Kosovo or Knin Kosovo (to make a difference from Kosovo in Serbia) https://raf.arh.bg.ac.rs/handle/123456789/945
Dalmatian Kosovo composed of 7 villages had almost 100% Serbian population until 1995, even today Serbs are majority there but their number is quite lower.

Kosovo (Kosowo) exist in Poland as well https://mapcarta.com/18535822

They are basically claiming that Ottoman-Austrian wars in Kosovo in 1689 was led by Serbs and that the Austrians met a Serb in Prizren, Kosovo and were greeted by Serbs but in the actual version it says Albanians, they were greeted by Albanians and the Albanian Pjeter Bogdani in Prizren Kosovo and all the demographics show Western/Central Kosovo had an Albanian majority, Prizren was an Albanian town.

This is what some of the texts say:

or his part, he continued his march and arrived on the 6th, as reported earlier, in Prisiran [Prizren], the Capital of Albania, where he was welcomed by the Archbishop (5) [36r] of that country and by the Patriarch of Clementa with their various religious ceremonies. Outside of Priserin [Prizren] there were at least 6,000 Albanese [Albanian] troops

There is no mention of Arsenije , it mentions Albanians, it's referring to the Albanian Pjeter Bogdani from Kosovo and Prizren in Kosovo as the capital of Albania who led a resistance against the Ottomans, yet in the Serb version they claim this was Arsenije Crnojevic or that he was there but he wasn't, they claim all the soldiers were Serbs but the texts say they were Albanians. As do many other texts.

    Here from an author:

An anonymous text based on original documents, refers to Piccolomini being greeted at Prizren by '5,000 Arnauts who were partly Christian Albanians and partly Muslim Albanians

And the anonymous Italian manuscript history, which was also clearly based on dispatches and other documents kept in Vienna, says that 'There stood outside Prizren 6,000 and more Albanians

Yet in the Serb version they claim these were Serbs, they claim they led the Austrian-Ottoman Wars in 1689-90 but it was actually Albanians. One of their authors basically changed it in the 19th century and then he invented some mythological versions which none of these texts refer to.

Many Serbian historians have assumed that this Archbishop was Arsenije, the Serbian Patriarch; some have argued that both men were present to greet Piccolomini; but there is in fact conclusive evidence that Arsenije was in Montenegro at this time, and that he did not return to Kosovo until severa weeks later, after Piccolomini's death. (The confusion was caused by an early report to Vienna, which apparently described Bogdani not only as the Archbishop but also as the 'Patriarch of the Kelmendi'- some early writers mistakenly supposed that two different people were being referred to here, and some modern historians, while assuming that only one person was involved, have taken the title 'Patriarch' as proof it was Arsenije.) Those who have believed that Arsenije was the ecclesiastic leading the crowd of 5,000 people at Prizren have naturally also assumed that the crowd consisted of members of his flock-Orthodox Serbs. But once we recognize that the ecclesiastic was Bogdani.....

Patriarch of Kelmendi refers to Pjeter Bogdani , the 'Archbishop of Albania' , that's also what they call him in other texts, it doesn't refer to Serbs but they changed it on purpose but the author is being very careful with them

He led a resistance against the Ottoman Empire in Kosovo with Albanians in 1689 and not Serbs

Austrian-Ottoman wars in Kosovo were led by Albanians Pjeter Bogdani and Toma Raspasani in 1689-90 , that Arsenije and Serbs led it is false , it has even been removed from wikipedia now as there is nothing that supports it, it refers to Albanians.

The Serbs basically claim they were the majority in 1690 and were pushed out and replaced by people from Northern Albania but it's completely nonsense theory invented by one of their nationalist writers in the 19th-20th century Dusan Batakovic , it's not what the original texts even say nor what the demographics of that time support, they basically falsified it and many of their nationalists believe they led some kind of war there against Ottomans and then were pushed out but its nothing but a fairytale that has absolutely no evidence

One guy on Quora claims hundreds of thousands of Serbs left Kosovo in 1690

It's nothing but a bunch of false history, these texts refer to Albanians as 'Arnauts'

it was translated into English by the British author Robert Elsie, Kosovo in the great Turkish War

    http://www.elsie.de/index.htm

It is quite unbelievable how the Turks were put back in their place when, at a certain moment, they noticed that the fleeing Germans had turned their dauntless brows back towards them and retaken their previous positions. They even advanced to the borders of Macedonia and Caczianeck [Kaçanik], a large city that had been abandoned by Imperial forces even before the death of the Archbishop of Albania
It's referring to this Albanian guy https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pjetër_Bogdani , he died on the Austrian side leading the revolt

Yet the Serbs claim it was Arsenije Crnojevic who led the revolt and met the Austrians in Prizren and then led a ''Great Exodus of Serbs''

Here it refers to 20,000 Arnauts/Albanians (which they Serb claim in their version as 20,000 Serbs, they changed it to 20,000 Serbs):
In other documents found by another author from archives it also specifies 20,000 Albanians such as according to Noel Malcolm it specifies 20,000
    Albanians

His Imperial Majesty discovered that of the 20,000 Arnauts who under Piccolomini’s influence had sworn allegiance to the Emperor, only 300 remained to be relied on, because they had been so badly treated by His Grace and the other officers. Had the Duke not changed his mind when he realised the mistake, he would not have had a single one of them under his command. Even though the remaining men were marching among our Imperial forces, in their hearts they were unwilling.

The reputation of this commander grew more and more because of his orderliness such that 5,000 Arnauts [Muslim Albanians] in Pristina [Prishtina] who had risen against the Turks and [the inhabitants of] many of the major towns in the vicinity had given to understand that they would submit to the rule of the Emperor. Thus, when he arrived in Pristina, they swore allegiance to the Emperor and at that moment, this large tract of territory came under the shadow of the laurels of His Imperial Majesty.
For his part, he continued his march and arrived on the 6th, as reported earlier, in Prisiran [Prizren], the Capital of Albania, where he was welcomed by the Archbishop (5) [36r] of that country and by the Patriarch of Clementa with their various religious ceremonies.

Outside of Priserin [Prizren] there were at least 6,000 Albanese [Albanian] troops as well as others who had formerly been in the pay of the Turks and who are known as Arnauts.

They changed all these into Serbs and added Arsenije Crnojevic as the main character and claim he lead a migration of Serbs after a battle with Ottomans

This is what the author is saying, the Serbian writer who did this was Dusan Batakovic , he basically pulled the theory right out of his ass without any evidence and it was repeated and became famous and claimed a bunch of Albanians massively started settling from the mountains

In reality it was actually Albanians who led this revolt Pjeter Bogdani and Toma Raspasani

I'm trying to find more texts .

They basically stole our peoples history, it was a revolt by our people where 20,000 Albanians took part and another 6000 and 5000 and many others but they claimed it as theirs and claim after 1690 they were pushed out and we started settling and genocided them supposedly but it's completely nonsense as all the demographics show but this is what they believe in their nationalist circles, they believe they led the Austrian-Ottoman Wars in 1689-90 and were pushed out and that ''evil'' Shiptar Albanians came down from the mountains

Kosovo Albanian Roman Catholic Bishop and philosopher Pjetër Bogdani returned to the Balkans in March 1686 and spent the next years promoting resistance to the armies of the Ottoman Empire, in particular in his native Kosovo. He and his vicar Toma Raspasani played a leading role in the pro-Austrian movement in Kosovo during the Great Turkish War.[9] He contributed a force of 6,000 Albanian soldiers to the Austrian army which had arrived in Pristina and accompanied it to capture Prizren. There, however, he and much of his army were met by another equally formidable adversary, the plague. Bogdani returned to Pristina but succumbed to the disease there in 6 December 1689.[10] His nephew, Gjergj Bogdani, reported in 1698 that his uncle's remains were later exhumed by Turkish and Tatar soldiers and fed to the dogs in the middle of the square in Pristina.
Toma Raspasani (Italian: Tomasso Raspassani, c. 1648-17??) was an Albanian Franciscan friar and vicar, subordinate Pjetër Bogdani, Archbishop of Skopje, with whom he organized an Albanian pro-Austrian movement that would fight in the Great Turkish War against the Ottoman Empire.

So yes it is false history 100% that has become famous not that it matters. I wish I could find more texts from 1689 or letters that would show this is a completely nonsense theory but whatever

    I'm out.

What do I need to prove ? They made our people look like Ottoman sponsored transplants that came after 1690 at the hand of the Ottomans is my point. And by fabricating this version they made their historical presence there look more important than it is actually is . Their historical presence there is pretty irrelevant except for 13th-15th century. Of course unless you don't count murder and genocide. By fabricating this version, they depicted themselves as rebellious people who were pushed out and down from the mountains came the evil Albanians to take their land

Albanians in general were more rebellious and warlike and led more revolts against the Ottomans.

For example Western/Central Kosovo in 1689 had an Albanian majority yet they changed them entirely into Serb in this version except for some Catholics which they left out and claim after they had a battle with Ottomans in 1689 the entire region was depopulated and Serbs left i.e ''Great Migration of Serbs 1690" , but it's just false history as the author shows.

My whole point is that they claim Albanians in Kosovo are immigrants from Albania that came after 1690, a version that has become very famous, but it is completely false as the author also says. Literally any idiot could look into people that travelled there or writers and see this is nonsense but its mind blowing how people actually still believe this nonsense.

In 17th century the Western and parts of central Kosovo region was Albanian speaking while the eastern region was Slavic speaking.[44][45]

Catholic bishop Pjetër Mazreku noted in 1624 that the Catholics of Prizren were 200, the Serbs (Orthodox) 600, and Muslims, almost all of whom were Albanians, numbered 12,000[46] In his 1662 work, Ottoman traveller Evliya Çelebi noted that the residents of Vushtrri were mostly Albanians.[47] According to Evliya Celebi western and central Kosovo was Albanian inhabited[48]

An English embassy in Istanbul in 1690 reported of Austrians having made contact with 20,000 Albanians in Kosovo that had turned their weapons against the Turks[49]

Johann Georg von Hahn noted that the Albanian population in Kosovo in 1689 had sided with the Austrians against the Turks[50]

During the Great Austro-Turkish War, Albanian Catholic leaders Pjetër Bogdani and Toma Raspasani rallied Kosovo Albanian Catholics and Muslims to the pro-Austrian cause. After the war, when Kosovo did not end up part of the Habsburg empire, harsh reprisals followed on Albanian Catholics whom were co-religionists of the Austrians.[51]
Even people who led the revolt in Kosovo in 1689 were mostly Albanian but in their false version they changed them all into Serbs and invented a theory that Albanians came after 1689 and replaced them after the revolt , they basically falsified the history of that place and tried to make their own presence look more important and this was done by a Serb writer Dusan Batakovic.

It's completely false history that has become famous that depicts Albanians as Ottoman transplants and these people as glurious people who fought the Ottomans and were pushed out , basically making their historical presence more relevant.
