Generally, I much prefer watching rugby and have done so for quite a few years now. However, given the hitherto dominance of Germany in this competition and how down in the dumps Britain is in many ways, this was something special.

I don't watch much sport on telly. The last time I watched any female sport (apart from Wimbledon), was over 12 years ago, in Germany. It was some "Handball" tournament, which Denmark were playing in (was staying at my then gf's friend's for her birthday bash).

I didn't know Germany were so dominant. I did notice that the teams were very homogeneous. Which wouldn't be noteworthy but for the extraordinarily diverse men's teams that are the norm.
