This - own insecurity - is actually what I suspect regarding most cases of strong hatred towards (male) homosexuals. Women's sexuality is more fluid but women that are actually lesbians are typically unattractive women who pair up with other unattractive women for their emotional needs as much as for their sexual. Their options are limited.

Another way to explain it: I've never seen a hot lesbian. I have seen hot bisexual women. The only difference between the two is one is too unattractive to get men. Men aren't always able to have sex with anything.
