But why do they have to invade other countries, as in move outside their own borders (war, colonization). Yes, there are other people that also do that and usually people don't like that behaviour.
Why can't they they where they are? Many other European people do just that.

It was the Normans coming from France that were into colonisation. From Britain they went to Ireland. They also colonised parts of Italy.

Yes Isles history is complicated. The Celts didn't help each other and it was the Normans that were the death knell of Gaelic freedom not the Anglo-Saxons.

But who are the ones so started it (colonization) to begin with? The elites then? Were there no average anglo-saxon slave owners, for instance?

Well, that's the issue...

Many European countries colonised. The French, Spanish, Portuguese along with the British. It's all history now. Even the Dutch did it.

Yes, that's right. I'm not saying those countries didn't do it but the UK is by far one of the most successful colonizers, and for that you have to be very aggressive, which I think is the issue.
