The Ministerium für Staatssicherheit (Stasi) had abt. 90,000 regular employees and abt. 200,000 inofficial collaborants. So 290,000 out of 16,700,000 inhabitants are abt. 1.7%, so just abt. 2 in 100.

But the inofficial collaborants often had particular positions, like in the administration of a school or a company, so their insights were regularly over average. The more noteworthy figure is said to be the 90,000 employees that worked fulltime for the Staatssicherheit, because this is a comparably very big (and expensive) resource compared to the population.

Yeah, everyone had jobs but in many cases, it cost more to the state than it was worth to keep you in that job. When the wall fell that wasn't going to fly anymore.

The above creates a mindset that you're owed something. No one is owed anything. Why should anyone pay you to be a detriment to their own business? They'd go out of business if they do.

I have never met a Leftist Libertarian. It's just a term that I see float around on the internet. It's as if they like the word libertarian and so they take it and run with it. These types of people believe in silly things like UBI, which would cause massive inflation.

In any case, whatever their professed ideals, Eastern European countries (not least Russia itself) are often as bad if not worse than the West when it comes to rates of divorce, abortion, alcoholism and prostitution.

USSR didn't have prostitution officially and unofficially it was miserable compared to capitalist countries. It makes perfect sense since capitalism preaches that everything is for sale contrary to what we were taught.
The reason prostitution rose in post-Soviet time is exactly the win of the western capitalistic anti-culture that poisoned our society gradually until culminated in Perestroika.

Alcoholism is awful but hardly worse than drug addiction you have large scale and even legalized too. Even doctors make you drug addicts perfectly legally and en masse so that Rockfellers were happy.

Concerning divorce, do you even have a proper marriage left to divorce?? Not you personally, but your society. I know that you're bitter about USSR because you'd be criminalized there just for your orientation but try to be objective.

I meant how Eastern European countries are like now, whatever the likes of Messrs Putin, Orban and Lukashenko like to preach, not so much what they were like during Communist times.
