My father's results for regions in Spain remain unchanged, so far no update is visible.

The term Hispania is Latin, the term Iberia is exclusively Greek. To say Iberian or Iberia for Spanish or Spain is to commit a misunderstanding, as it implies differences of period and environment. In the surviving texts of the Romans, they always use the name Hispania (first mentioned around 200 BC by the poet Quintus Ennius), whereas in the surviving texts of the Greeks, they always use the name Iberia.

According to oral family tradition E-FT155550 comes from a deserter of Napoleon's troops (1808-1813) who stayed in Spain and changed his surname.

When did your fathers results for regions in spain happen? I did my 23andme test way back in 2016 and it never happened for me only for my italian side.

I did the test only for my father on 23andMe in 2021, my mother passed away in 2019, so I also can't have a bar on whether they have updated or not, now I will see what happens with this latest update.

OK, the new results are in. They look a little messier imo, apart from the fact that they split East Asian & Native American into their own categories.

More unassigned and some noisy percentages added. Trace ancestries also higher.

    Annoying tbh.

I didn't received specific Spanish, African, East Asian Regions, only the Panamanian native region. I only have 18% Amerindian and very ancestral. I have recent East Asian and More Spanish and African than Amerindian
