Default Hi, I have a question about the Iberians.

Genetically speaking. Are the Andalusians closer to other Spaniards (like murcians) or to Portuguese from the South/Central Area?
just looking through Gedmatch spreadsheets it's hard to know

OBS: Please do not take this politically, this is a genuine question, and an answer would help me a lot to interpret my dna results better.

Depending on which areas, some western Andalusians should be closer to the bordering Portuguese people an eastern Andalusians to Murcians. Or if you prefer ot Western Andalusians should be closer to Extremadurans, center Andalusians to Castillans and Eastern a mix between Castilians and Murcian/Valencians.

Generally, the rule that genetic differences are marked by the inheritance of the repopulation and colonization of the Reconquest is usually fulfilled, as well as that in the Iberian Peninsula, the adjacent areas usually have similar characteristics.

Apart from that there can always be isolated communities with differentiated characteristics, and then the question of the North-South differential gradient.

Result of my father in 23andMe

We Andalusians do not necessarily get the neighboring regions first.

Result of my father in MTA, here you don't even get Andalusia in the top 8, imagine it would come lower if it made it to 10
