That is why population of Russia and pre 1939 Ukraine (without Western lands) is connected with wide family ties, every 3-4th Russian has ancestry there. You won't see such between Croatia and Serbia. We're normally about Ukraine seeing it as our core lands, not a land belonging to the Soviet-Banderite mutant Ukrainian nationalists.

Russia is not currently in a position to make such demands. Putin is far away from conquering all of Ukraine. I hardly believe that Russia will keep the Kherson region long since it meets a massive problem in this region.

They have support from the whole West, which is significant. Russia IMHO can't conquest much more of Ukraine. Perhaps the Donbas (eventually) and that's it. I hardly believe that Putin will proclaim the general mobilisation as well as Belarusian inclusion in the war.

In Serbia live over 1 000 000 Serbs with origin from BiH and Croatia who came to Serbia in the last 100 years, words of Čedomir Antić https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Čedomir_Antić

Serbs from BiH and Croatia were always Serbs. They never had double identity and never changed their identity as Orthodox Slavic people of Ukraine.
Russian-Ukrainian case is similar as Serb-Montenegrin case.Modern Montenegro Orthodox population of Montenegro has complex identity. From anti-Serbian Montenegrins to people who consider themselves Serbs in every sense, including people which are between Serbian and Montenegrin identity and various other shades. In Serbia live quite more people with roots from present day Montenegro in the last 300 years than entire population of Montenegro.
