Schloss Groß Strehlitz in Schlesien

Schloss Groß Strehlitz ist die Ruine eines Schlosses in Groß Strehlitz in Schlesien. Im Jahr 1303 wird das „castrum strelcense“ als herzogliche Burg erwähnt. Anfang des 16. Jahrhunderts war der Bau ruinös und wurde unter den von Redern zum Schloss ausgebaut. Besonders in der zweiten Hälfte des 19. Jahrhunderts wurde das Schloss aus- und umgebaut.

Durch Kriegseinwirkung brannte das Schloss 1945 aus und ist seither Ruine. Vom einstigen Baukörper des Herrensitzes ist der benachbarte Marstall geblieben.

That's nice someone reminds about Silesian castles, even for Polish people this region seems to be boring when it has a handful of German, even some Czech influences. When there is a chance to protect some old historic buildings, the authorities try their best to do so. The case of Strehlitz(pol. Strzelce Opolskie) is not different.

According to Polish Wikipedia there were plans to restore the building but as the ruins are now private property and it turnt out it would cost way too much only the tower got renovated few years ago
