It seems you have no idea about history. The "Dark Age" is not reffered to losing Jerusalem, but started more earlier when the Roman Empire has collapsed.

The european countries and the Catholic Church got tremendous amount of money. After the crusades Europe became 100X times more richer.

During the crusades the european expeditionary army was mostly untrained peasant army, such poor peoples were part of it who wanted to be rich. These trained knights were just small part of european army. The crusaders were not more than 15000-25000 soldier in general, do you really think it was the complete army of Europe?
