Although of course the predominant European and African origins of modern Brazilians are a bit different to modern Americans, nevertheless had Brazil (or at least pockets of it) adopted the hardline stance about race that many US states once did, would modern Brazilians look much more similar to modern Americans than is actually the case?

I already said in the OP that the main European (and African) origins of Brazilians are a bit different to Americans. Still, could we say that a Brazil that had something akin to Jim Crow would be like the US with a Mediterranean touch?

How much SSA or Amerindian do self-declared White Brazilians score though? While I don't believe that Census figure which claimed that 55% of Brazilians are White (LOLOLOL), I'd say 30-40% are easily so, at least insofar as we can accept people who are 85%+ Euro to be 'White'.

It varies way too much from white tô white, i honestly dont know how to answer you. As i dont have these statistics . From the few results i saw maybe 10% african 3% native in Minas, 14% native 5% african in Ceará.You get my point.
But i agree with you , this country is safely not more than 50% white in your 85% euro criteria.I think its around 40% mostly because of the urban centers in São Paulo and the south.

Nope, they would still look Southern European (either Portuguese or Italian). German immigration in Brazil is negligible compared to Italian. Only 4% of Brazilians claim German heritage.

The question you asked is "would modern Brazilians look like modern Americans" if they had Jim Crow like laws in place? The answer is obviously no because one is mostly a NW European population and the other would be mostly southern European.
