Jokes aside, I laughed days ago about some postings here but I met a lot of Iranians, and they are really sick of this policy. Honestly I don’t think anything will change, but I don’t like it that people just are against the protest because the west supports it. I mean I even agree, Iranians shouldn’t trust everyone but in the end it is still sad that women can’t be free, especially in a very cool country like Iran. Also what I didn’t notice is that this girls was Kurdish and my Kurdish friends said that this isn’t only about women but also about being a Kurd. Politically and socially bullied in Turkey, misused as cannon fodder in Syria and Iraq, I think women and Kurds don’t have luck in Middle East. The protests began in Seqiz, Amini's hometown in the province of Kurdistan in the west of the country. Here, anger at Amini's death mixes with criticism of the systematic discrimination against the Kurds.

According to online videos, the nationwide protests repeatedly turned violent. The repression is particularly strong in the Kurdish areas. According to the recordings, the security forces shot unarmed demonstrators with live ammunition in Piranshahr, Mahabad and Urmia. Most of those killed are therefore Kurds. But there are also a number of other victims, such as 20-year-old Hadis Najafi*, who died during protests in Karaj, a suburb of Tehran.
The Kurdish regions are largely cut off from the outside world. Last week, the government largely shut down the internet across the country. The province of Kurdistan is particularly affected, reports the Netblocks.org project. According to unconfirmed reports, a state of emergency has been declared there.
On Saturday, Iranian forces said they attacked bases of Kurdish separatist groups in neighboring northern Iraq. The military attack was justified as a "legitimate response" to previous attacks by Kurdish groups on Iranian military bases in the border area, according to the Iranian military-affiliated Tasnim news agency.
Some see the attacks as a reaction to the protests in the Kurdish areas, which, according to social media, seem to have repeatedly succeeded in driving out the regime's armed and security forces. Iran's Interior Minister Ahmad Wahidi had previously accused some Kurdish groups of having been involved in the anti-government protests in Iran over the past few days. According to the government, there were also Kurdish arms deliveries to demonstrators in the Kurdish areas of Iran.

In the past I was thinking differently, meeting affected people changed my mind. I hope one day women will reach their freedom, people who can’t show sympathy should imagine how they would feel if their mother or sister would experience violence by such dystopian government.
